This is part 2 of my experience at the StoresOnline free Internet Marketing Seminar.
Something I forgot in the first post was that when we were in the hall before going into the room a guy came out and said some stuff to us and he had a british accent. I chuckled and my fiance asked what I was laughing at, I told her “Ahh yes! You have to have a british accent because Americans assume people with Brit Accents are smart for some reason. That was something that I learned and thought about because it is true from Frank Kern. Sorry I forgot about that part.
Seminar
Then the seminar actually starts. The British guy gets up there and introduces himself tells everyone he is from Manchester, England, blah blah blah and then intoduces the speaker. The speaker gets up there and tells everyone why people trying to get started on the internet marketing frontier fails. It’s because they don’t have the right tools and the right support. And tells everyone ’straight up’ why they are here giving this free seminar, they are a software company, not a get rich quick scheme, they don’t guarantee that you will make lots of money, etc. I read about this in one of the StoresOnlineScams forums, that they try to dodge the bizopportunity scheme by offering just software and no guarantees, lol. OK if you are wanting to know how my experience at the StoresOnline seminar went this will be split up because I have a lot to tell you about it and I want to make sure I get everything in without having a huge post so I guess I better get on with it.
Registration
The first thing I noticed was all the old people. I realized at that point that they must be targeting the retired crowd. (wonder how they got my name and address. =/ ) After a few minutes some younger couples started filing in and so I thought whew I’m not alone. We had to fill out a little questionaire telling them if you have a personal website, business website, none, etc. and what you wanted out of the seminar, blah blah blah.
Seating
All of us get into a line and file into the conference room, we give the ushers our survey thingy and they seat us. There was a powerpoint presentation being played while we waited for everyone to get there and be seated.
It was really strange that the couple that sat next to us was an old family friend. Very strange that I hadn’t seen this guy in years (like 10-15) and I go to Home Depot the other day and see him there and then today I see him. Man it’s a small world.
At our seat there is another form to fill out another survey type of form. But I flip it over and what do I see? Offers!! Just like the ones we promote, lol. Ya know the mortgage, ID theft, financial services, tax prep, etc. They made sure to make it sound like hey these are some free offers for ya. Check the yes box, what do you have to lose? If you don’t like it after the 30 days just cancel. I was looking around knowing that most of these people are going to check the yes box.
Part 2 will be posted tomorrow it will cover some of their customer’s sites that they give as examples and a review of each one.
part 3 will probably be posted tomorrow as well but it will uncover the one thing that just floored me.
