My bad guys, I have been swamped with stuff and haven’t been able to update the blog. I hope to change that soon though. You know that dating campaign I set up about a month ago? Well, I got plenty of clicks but no conversions, my landing page was ok got a decent Click Through, but no conversions at the networks, I had been on the fence if I wanted to continue promoting Azoogle since they laid off all the good folks at the Toronto office so after this I just pulled the campaign down and thought I would focus on all the stuff I had been learning at Wealthy Affiliate.

One thing that is necessary for a successful PPC campaign is a good CTR, which is 4% or more. That is one thing I was never able to obtain because I would gather a 2k or more keyword list and add them all to my ad groups, and would get tons of impressions but since the keywords weren’t targeted or the bid was too low so I was down at the bottom of the list or 2nd or 3rd page, well I would struggle to maintain a 2% CTR. Well after reading all the stuff over at Wealthy Affiliate it opened my eyes to the problem. Instead of using a shotgun approach to keywords, find them individually and only use the ones that have low competition and are highly targeted to people in the later stages of the buying cycle.

That has helped me leaps and bounds, I am the type of person that likes to research so taking the time and finding the right keywords is not a problem. In a post in the near future I will go through the steps I took to turn my dismal PPC campaigns to over $100 profit a week in less than 2 weeks.
